Can you remember a time when one of these OLDER PEOPLE in your life helped you through something hard? Write their name.  _______________________________________________________

Boys and girls, remember from our last lesson that GOD is always with us. SO, the very first ONE we can go to for help is GOD. He wants us to talk to him about the problems we face, and trust that HE will work it out. Before Jesus went to be with His Father, He promised to send the Holy Spirit to be our Helper.

John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever…

Not only did He send the Holy Spirit to help us, but He ALSO gave us people like our parents, guardians, pastors, and leaders to help us, too. We can learn a big lesson from Jethro’s advice to Moses. When we are going through something tough and we are feeling sad or alone or afraid, let’s NOT TRY TO DO IT ALONE. We can go to God, and then, look around and find one of the OLDER people He has given us to talk to. Ask them to pray with you.

Let’s pray: Thank you, God, for ALWAYS being with us so that we are NEVER ALONE! Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to be my Helper. Thank you for the older people you have put in my life to help me.  When I am going through something hard, please help me to go to you first, and then, to the older ones you have given to me. You give good advice, God. I trust you and want to do things your way. Please remind me and give me the courage to talk about my problem with older people in my life.  I love you God. You take good care of me and I am so grateful. Amen.
