If we all had our own separate plans and wishes and went in different directions, I wonder how effective it would be. Surely God has a strategy in what He’s doing around the world that involves timing, personnel and focus.
There are some countries that have great need and are NOW open while others are already sufficiently served by other mission ministries.
As well, some places are just closed doors at this time. Other nations have relational and structural foundations already established, that we not only relate to as “our tribe” but are also trustworthy and fruit bearing.
Our Missions Committee knows of at least three benefits of being involved in Kingdom Missions, where we exercise prayerful planning, Holy Spirit strategy and emphasis on relationship:
1. Strong long term relationship with some national and missionary workers will likely produce best results. We want established relationships with some, rather than little relationship with multitudes of workers and nations all over the world.
2. Effective use of resources is our goal. While we live in a country often called “the land of plenty”, we still want to show ourselves as good stewards in the cause of missions.
3. The joy of giving, serving and participating in something that dips into the very city/region where we live, then spreads throughout our great nation of Canada and then spreads out to the farthest parts of the globe is not only a mandate from God but a privilege!
